A native of Colorado, Kyle Rightley’s academic and professional music careers have taken him across the country. He has contributed as a guitarist, writer, and vocalist to rock/pop groups Silent Earth, Alchemy, The Guppy Effect, The Economy, and of course The Big Payback. He has performed with these groups throughout the Midwest and Southwest United States.

In addition to his pop music exploits, Kyle is a trained classical musician with euphonium performance degrees from the University of Colorado-Boulder and University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has performed on euphonium and trombone with multiple wind ensembles, chamber groups, jazz big bands, and orchestras. He also teaches low brass lessons privately.

Between his different instrumental skills and areas of interest, Kyle has found himself playing a broad scope of music ranging from classical and jazz to rock, pop, and everything in between. Kyle’s eclectic musical influences can also be heard in his solo recording project, Io.
